Lions Tour 2009
Without a series win since 1997, the Lions will be desperate for success on soil where they last tasted victory. Join us to sample great atmosphere at superb Rugby Stadiums and experience the fantastic Scenery and Wildlife in the "World in One Country".
Current proposed test Match dates and venues are:
Lions Tour 1 - 20/06/2009 - Kings Park ABSA Stadium, Durban
Lions Tour 2 - 27/06/2009 - Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria
Lions Tour 3 - 04/07/2009 - Ellis Park Stadium, Johannesburg
The Springboks will be after revenge hoping to emulate the Lions of 1997, winning the series after the Second Test at Kings Park, Durban.
Advance Registrations Are Now Being Taken
We are now taking advance registrations of £100 per person, which is fully refundable should the itinerary and cost not be suitable at time of booking. (Tickets via Rugby World or Official Agents). We will be providing Budget to 5 Star Corporate Packages to include all 3 Lions Test Matches. Tailor-Made Tours can also be organised for Teams and Supporters Groups (10+) for Lions pre-Test Match Games.

(British & Irish Lions Tours 1 and 3 Groups, depart the UK for South Africa) This afternoon / evening meet your Tour Representative at London Heathrow Airport (Terminal 1) to check in for the South African Airways (or alternative Airline/Airport) for your overnight flight to South Africa.
FRIDAY 19TH JUNE
(British & Irish Lions Tours 1 & 3 Groups, arrive in Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa)
This morning arrive at Durban Airport via Johannesburg. After clearing customs and immigration formalities meet our Ground Handling Agent and transfer by coach to your Hotel on the Wild Coast Resort, Durban or Umhlanga Rocks via a guided City / Orientation Tour. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the restaurants, shops and attractions in the area. This evening attend a Go 2 Sport - Welcome to Natal, South Africa Party / Braai (Barbecue) at the Hotel / Rugby Club.
SATURDAY 20TH JUNE
Depart the Wild Coast at 10.00 and Durban / Umhlanga Rocks at 12.00 for your coach transfer to the ABSA Stadium, Kings Park to sample the Pre Test Match atmosphere and attend the First Test Match between the Springboks & Lions. Depart the ABSA Stadium at 18.00 for your return coach transfer to your Hotel on the Wild Coast, Durban or Umhlanga Rocks alternatively spend the evening at Kings Park Fields to Experience the best Test Match Party in World Rugby.
SUNDAY 21ST JUNE
Full day is at leisure on the Wild Coast, Durban / Umhlanga Rocks or Take an optional Full Day coach tour to Drakensberg Mountains and experience the awesome sights of the Mountainous Wonderland & World Heritage Site.
MONDAY 22ND JUNE
(Optional 3 Night Tour to Cape Town to include Emerging Springboks v Lions at Newlands) Full day is at leisure to relax on the Wild Coast, Durban’s Golden Mile or in Umhlanga Rocks. Take an optional coach tour to the Valley of a Thousand Hills, traditional Zulu Village (including a live show) and the Crocodile / Reptile Park.
TUESDAY 23RD JUNE
Full day is at leisure to relax on the Wild Coast, Durban’s Golden Mile or Umhlanga Rocks. Visit the Snake Park and Dolphin Aquarium or visit Umhlanga Rocks and the Shopping / Entertainment Complex and Shark Centre. This evening watch on Screen at the Hotel or local Rugby Club in Durban, Emerging Springboks v Lions at Newlands.
WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE
Full day is at leisure for relaxing, shopping or sightseeing; Take an optional full day tour to Hluhuwe National Park in search of the Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard) or visit Shakaland Zulu Village (Shaka, King of the Zulu’s) or visit Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift in the Zulu Battlefields. (Featured in the Films Zulu and Zulu Dawn)
THURSDAY 25TH JUNE
(British & Irish Lions Tour 2 Groups depart UK & Cape Town Tour Groups arrive in Pretoria) Full morning is at leisure. Depart your accommodation early afternoon for your coach transfer to Durban Airport for your late afternoon domestic flight to Johannesburg Airport. After collecting your luggage, meet our Ground Handling Agent and transfer by coach to your Hotel in Pretoria / Hatfield Square via a short guided City / Orientation Tour. Rest of the evening is at leisure to explore the many shops, restaurants and attractions in the lively Hatfield Square area.

This evening attend a Go 2 Sport - Welcome to Guateng, South Africa Party / Braai (Barbecue) at a local Rugby Club.
SATURDAY 27TH JUNE
Full morning is at leisure in Pretoria / Hatfield Square to soak up the Pre Test Match atmosphere. Depart your Hotel at 12.00 for your coach transfer to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria to attend the Second Test Match between the Springboks and Lions. Depart the Stadium at 18.00 for your return coach transfer to the Hotel or visit Hatfield Square.
SUNDAY 28TH JUNE
(British & Irish Lions Tour 1 Groups depart Pretoria, Guateng, South Africa for the UK) Full day is at leisure for relaxing, shopping or sightseeing in Pretoria / Hatfield Square. Take an optional Full Day Guided Coach Tour to the Cullinan Premier Diamond Mine, where the Worlds largest Rough – Gem Diamond was mined. Diamonds from this mine were also used in the Crown Jewels. Rest of the evening is at leisure in Hatfield Square.
MONDAY 29TH JUNE
(British & Irish Lions Tour 1 Groups arrive in UK & Optional 3 Night Victoria Falls / Zambia Tour) Full morning is at leisure in Pretoria / Hatfield Square for relaxing. Depart the hotel early afternoon for your coach transfer to your Hotel in the Sandton / Rosebank area via an Orientation Tour and Optional visit to Ellis Park Stadium. Rest of the evening is at leisure in Sandton / Rosebank to explore the shops, restaurants and attractions in the area.

Full day is at leisure for relaxing, shopping or sightseeing. Take an optional Coach Tour to Lesedi Cultural Village to learn about the native traditions of South Africa or visit Gold Reef City, Casino & Apartheid Museum with an opportunity to view a Gold Pouring and take an Underground Tour (Was once the Richest Gold Mine in the World!!)

Full day is at leisure for relaxing; shopping or sightseeing. Full day is at leisure. Take an optional Guided Coach Tour to the Elephant and Cheetah Sanctuary. This evening attend the Go 2 Sport – “Springboks Experience” Tour Party / Braii (Barbecue) at a local Rugby Club
SATURDAY 4TH JULY
Full morning is at leisure to soak up the Pre Test Match atmosphere. Depart your accommodation at 12.00 for your coach transfer to Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg to attend the Third Test Match between the Springboks & Lions. Depart the Stadium at 18.00 for your return coach transfer to the Hotel or spend the evening in Sandton / Rosebank.
SUNDAY 5TH JULY
(British & Irish Lions Tours 2 & 3 Groups, depart Sandton / Rosebank, Guateng, South Africa) Full day is at leisure for relaxing; shopping or sightseeing. Take an optional Guided Coach Tour of Soweto Township & lunch at a traditional Shabeen (native pub / restaurant) or visit a local Lion Park & opportunity to handle Lion Cubs.
This afternoon depart your hotel in Sandton / Rosebank (Or Optional Tour attraction) for your coach transfer to Johannesburg Airport to check in for the overnight South African Airways flight (or alternative Airline) to London / UK.
MONDAY 06TH JULY
(British & Irish Lions Tours 2 and 3 Groups arrive in the UK) This morning arrive in London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 1 (Or alternative Airport) after clearing customs and immigration formalities; collect your luggage for your onward journey home.

Celtic Lions/Touring with Legends 3 Night Tour to Cape Town
MONDAY 22nd JUNE
This morning / afternoon depart Wild Coast , Durban or Umhlanga Rocks and transfer by coach to Durban Airport for you 3 night optional Tour to Cape Town. Arrive Cape Town and transfer to City Hotel, Waterfront or in Stellenbosch. Rest of the evening is at leisure at your Hotel or you can explore the restaurants, shops, bars & attractions in the area.
TUESDAY 23rd JUNE
Morning is at leisure. Take an optional Cable Car Ride to the Top of Table Mountain or a boat trip to Robben Island and visit the maximum security prison, lime quarry and the cell of Nelson Mandela, his home for over 20 years. This afternoon take a return coach transfer to Newlands Stadium to attend the Emerging Springboks v Lions Game.
WEDNESDAY 24th JUNE
Full day is at leisure. Take an optional Winelands coach Tour including a visit to Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch with a visit to the Danie Craven Museum at Stellenbosch University & lunch at the Spier Vineyard and Cheetah Farm or Cape Peninsula Tour including Hout Bay, Duiker Island, Chapmans Peak and Cape of Good Hope Nature reserve.
THURSDAY 25TH JUNE
Full morning is at leisure. Depart hotel for the coach transfer to Cape Town Airport and onward flight to Johannesburg. On arrival at Johannesburg Airport, transfer by coach to your accommodation in Sandton, Rosebank or Randburg and join up with the rest of the Celtic Lions / Touring with Legends Supporters Groups that have arrived from Pretoria.
